Shanghai“s cross-border e-commerce sea exports surpass last year“s total

2026.06.04 A shipment of handheld fans worth 18,000 yuan was shipped overseas from Shanghai on June 2 under a new customs clearance model designed for cross-border e-commerce exports. The shipment was processed through a "master manifest + consolidated container" system that allows small cross-border e-commerce parcels to be combined with general trade exports and shipped in fully loaded containers. Customs authorities said the model has helped lower logistics costs for small and medium-sized exporters while improving shipping efficiency. Officials also said the system has attracted cargo from major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon, to Shanghai ports. The growth has been significant.
